Walker’s Bend
This unusual project rescued a troubled housing subdivision by transforming it into a mixed-use neighborhood. At the time of planning, this project was nearly 1/4 built, with most properties vacant or in foreclosure. Through an innovative program, the local municipality is restoring economic viability while increasing density and uses.
